Hooks and Hangers That Actually Stay Put

Loose items on walls cause clutter and wasted time. We provide cup hooks, screw hooks, snap hooks, picture hanging hooks, sawtooth hangers, mirror plates, vine eyes, screw eyes, storage hooks, tool hooks, ladder hooks and self-adhesive hooks. Finishes include electro brass, white, zinc and PVC coating. Choose the right hook for every room, garage, workshop or site.

Hanging Fixings for Home, Trade and Workshop

The wrong hook can fail under load. It can damage a wall or surface. It can pull out at the worst moment. Good hanging fixings hold reliably and look neat.

We cover everyday needs and specialist tasks. Need to hang a picture frame? Use a sawtooth hanger or picture hook. Need to organise a kitchen? Cup hooks work well on shelves and cabinets. Need a quick fix on a tiled surface? Self-adhesive hooks need no drilling. Need to clip straps or cords? Snap hooks give a fast, secure attachment point.

All products in this collection are from TIMCO. Most are available in small trade packs. Prices include VAT. Next-day delivery is available when you order by 2 pm.

Types of Hanging and Utility Fixings

Use the product type filter on the left to narrow your search. Here is a plain guide to each type in this range.

Cup Hooks

Cup hooks screw directly into timber, shelves or cabinet undersides. They hold cups, mugs, keys, lightweight tools and small bags. Available in round and square styles. Finishes include electro brass and white. Sizes run from 19mm to 38mm. Round brass cup hooks suit kitchens and utility rooms. White cup hooks blend into painted shelving.

Screw Hooks and Screw Eyes

Screw hooks thread into timber and offer a curved hook end. They suit hanging plant pots, garden tools or workshop items. Screw eyes have a closed loop instead of an open hook. Both types grip timber firmly when fully driven. Available in zinc and electro brass finishes. Sizes range from 3mm to 10mm thread diameter.

Picture Hanging Hooks

Picture hanging hooks fit to walls with small nails at an angle. This design spreads the load and keeps the hook stable. Available in single and double styles. Single hooks suit lighter frames. Double hooks carry more weight and give extra stability. Also available as mixed packs for varied frame sizes. Finished in electro brass for a discreet, neat look.

Sawtooth Hangers

Sawtooth hangers fix to the back of picture frames and boards. The serrated edge grips a nail head on the wall. Available in 41mm and 63mm sizes. A mixed pack covers both sizes in one purchase. Each pack includes matching nails. Finished in electro brass. Simple to fit and reliable for everyday wall hanging tasks.

Mirror Plates

Mirror plates are used to fix mirrors and framed items to walls. They sit flat against the back of the item. A slotted hole lets you adjust the position before tightening. Available in plain and slotted styles. Both are 32mm and 38mm sizes in electro brass. Packs of four are available for each type and size.

Snap Hooks

Snap hooks clip shut with a spring-loaded gate. They attach to cords, straps, lanyards and bag loops quickly. Available in aluminium at 47mm and steel at 60mm. The aluminium snap hook is light and suited to lower loads. The steel snap hook is stronger and suits heavier applications. Used widely in outdoor, site and storage settings.

Self-Adhesive Hooks

Self-adhesive hooks stick directly to smooth, clean surfaces. No drilling or screws are needed. These are oval-shaped hooks in small and large sizes. Small hooks measure 37.5 x 28mm. Large hooks measure 57 x 42.5mm. They work on tiles, glass, painted walls and metal surfaces. Ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and rental properties.

Storage, Tool and Ladder Hooks

Storage hooks and tool hooks mount to walls for heavy items. Tool hooks are 100mm long and sold in packs of two. They suit organising hand tools in garages and workshops. Ladder hooks are 270mm and designed to store ladders flat on walls. Sold in packs of two, they help free up floor space. Both types are zinc-finished carbon steel for durability.

Vine Eyes

Vine eyes are screw-in fixings with a small eye at the top. They are used to tension wire or cord across walls and fences. Ideal for training climbing plants or running cable lines. Available in two sizes with zinc finish. Drive into timber or masonry using a screwdriver or drill.

Curtain Hooks

Plastic curtain hooks clip onto curtain tape and slide into tracks or poles. Available in white and sold in a pack of 35 pieces. They are lightweight, simple to fit and easy to replace. Suited to standard curtain tape with evenly spaced pockets.

How to Choose the Right Hook or Hanger

Start with two questions. What am I hanging? And what surface am I fixing into? The answers will point you to the right product.

Hanging pictures and mirrors

Use picture hooks with angled nail pins for lighter frames. Use double hooks for heavier or wider frames. Use sawtooth hangers when fixing to the back of the frame itself. Use mirror plates when the item needs a flush, secure wall fix.

Organising kitchens and utility rooms

Cup hooks screw into shelf undersides or cabinet rails. Round brass hooks give a classic look. White hooks blend into painted wood. Use small 19mm or 25mm hooks for mugs and keys. Use 38mm hooks for heavier items like bags.

No-drill wall hanging

Self-adhesive hooks need no fixings or tools. They work on tiles, glass, gloss paint and metal. The surface must be clean, dry and smooth. Use small hooks for lightweight items up to about 1kg. Use large hooks for bulkier items like coats and bags.

Workshops and garages

Tool hooks and storage hooks keep hand tools off benches. PVC-coated hooks protect tool handles from scratches. Ladder hooks store a ladder flat on a wall. This clears valuable floor space in tight garages. Screw hooks also work well for hanging coiled cables and hoses.

Outdoor and garden use

Vine eyes run wire for climbing plants along walls and fences. Choose zinc-finished hooks for better weather resistance outdoors. Screw eyes suit fence panels and timber garden structures. Snap hooks clip onto bungee cords, nets and garden ties quickly.

Site and trade use

Snap hooks clip onto lanyards and safety straps on site. Steel snap hooks at 60mm handle heavier loads. Aluminium snap hooks are lighter for lanyards and equipment tags. Screw hooks suit temporary hanging needs in site cabins.

Not sure which size to pick? Check the individual product page for exact dimensions and load guidance. Mixed packs are a good starting point when you are stocking up. The mixed picture hook pack and mixed sawtooth hanger pack both cover a range of common sizes in one buy.

Self-Adhesive Hooks: What You Need to Know

Self-adhesive hooks are popular because they need no tools. But they work best only when used correctly.

Clean the surface thoroughly before sticking the hook down. Remove dust, grease and moisture with a dry cloth. Press firmly for at least 30 seconds after sticking. Leave for 24 hours before hanging anything heavy on them.

They do not work well on rough, textured or porous surfaces. Bare brick, unpainted plaster and rough timber are not suitable. On smooth, non-porous surfaces they hold reliably for everyday items.

For heavier loads or rough surfaces, use screw hooks or cup hooks instead. These require a pilot hole but give a much stronger hold.

PVC Coated Wall Hooks for Garages and Workshops

Coated wall hooks have a carbon steel core wrapped in PVC. The coating serves two purposes. It protects the hook from corrosion in damp environments. It also protects the items hanging on the hook from scratches.

Tool hooks and storage hooks in this range feature grey PVC coating. They are suited to garage walls, shed interiors and workshop panels. Ladder hooks use the same coated construction to prevent ladder damage.

Choose coated hooks wherever you need a hard-wearing, surface-friendly fixing. Ideal for hanging tools, cables, hoses and equipment on pegboards or wall battens.

Snap Hooks and Clip Hooks: Quick and Secure

Snap hooks are spring-loaded clips. The gate opens when pressed and snaps shut automatically. This makes them fast to attach and detach without tools.

The aluminium snap hook at 47mm is lightweight. It suits lanyards, keyrings, bag clips and lightweight gear. The steel snap hook at 60mm is heavier and stronger. It suits straps, ropes and load-bearing applications on site.

Both are sold in small packs. Aluminium snap hooks come in packs of five. Steel snap hooks come in packs of three.

For larger rigging, lashing and security needs, see our links and hooks for heavier-duty clip hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are self-adhesive hooks best used for?

Self-adhesive hooks work best on smooth, clean and non-porous surfaces. Tiles, glass, metal and gloss-painted walls are all suitable. They suit hanging lightweight items like keys, towels, bags and small tools. They are especially useful in rental properties where drilling is not allowed. Always clean and dry the surface before sticking the hook down.

What is the difference between a snap hook and a screw hook?

A snap hook is a clip with a spring-loaded gate. It attaches and detaches quickly from cords, straps and rings without tools. A screw hook threads into timber and provides a fixed hanging point. Use snap hooks when you need to clip and unclip items quickly. Use screw hooks for a permanent fixed hanging point on wood.

Which hooks are best for hanging pictures?

Picture hanging hooks fix to walls using small angled nail pins. Single hooks suit lighter frames. Double hooks carry heavier or wider frames more securely. For frames with a backing board, sawtooth hangers are a better choice. Mirror plates give the strongest fix for heavy mirrors and frames.

Are PVC-coated hooks suitable for damp environments?

Yes. PVC-coated hooks resist moisture better than uncoated metal hooks. They are a good choice for garages, sheds and outdoor covered areas. The coating also prevents scratching on ladders, tools and stored items. Always check individual product details for specific suitability guidance.

What size cup hook do I need?

19mm and 25mm cup hooks suit lightweight items like mugs and small keys. 38mm hooks are better for heavier items like bags, headphones and tools. Measure the item you want to hang and choose the hook size that fits comfortably. Round hooks suit curved handles. Square hooks work well on flat rail systems.

Can I use vine eyes for training climbing plants?

Yes. Vine eyes are specifically designed for this purpose. Screw them into timber fences or wall plugs at intervals. Thread galvanised wire through the eyes and tension it between them. Tie plant stems to the wire as they grow. They also work for running cable lines neatly along walls.

Do these products come with screws or nails included?

Sawtooth hangers include matching nails in the pack. Picture hanging hooks come with their fixing pins included. Other products such as cup hooks, screw hooks and mirror plates do not include wall fixings. Check individual product pages for full pack contents.
